This program is designed for individual impact investors, philanthropists, next gens, and family office advisors who seek to maximize their impact by leveraging multiple forms of capital, including non-economic capital as well as various forms of economic resources. It is open to all, regardless of whether they are CSP alumni or not. While no extensive experience is required, participants should have a foundational understanding of and interest in impact. The program is also directly applicable to next-generation inheritors who have not yet received a carveout.
Multicapital strategies are approaches for strategically combining various forms of capital at your disposal, such as economic, social, cultural and symbolic capital, to create lasting systemic impact. This program will guide you in mapping your unique set of resources, understanding how to leverage them effectively, and developing a coherent action plan to optimize your impact across different capital types.
The 2025 program run for three full days, from November 3 to 5, 2025, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Each day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with special networking dinners on the first and final evenings. A key highlight of the program is a full-day field visit to Roxbury, where participants will explore how one of Boston’s most marginalized communities effectively uses multicapital strategies. Sessions combine expert discussions, real-world case studies, peer-to-peer and hands-on learning. Participants will receive pre-reading materials and preparatory work (approximately 10 hours) three weeks before the program's start. Following the program, participants join periodic cohort calls for 6-12 months to support strategy implementation and continued learning. Upon completion, participants receive a digital badge certificate that can be shared on professional networks.
The program covers several key areas focused on understanding and leveraging different forms of capital:
- Understanding capital: Exploring how current understanding of capital might limit your ability to effectively use all your resources for creating impact, and how recent research is changing our view of capital and its implications for impact investing.
- Inventorying your resources: Learning how to identify and categorize your full range of resources, and determining which have the greatest potential for creating impact.
- Resource prioritization: Understanding which of your available resources could be used for specific purposes, and how each resource might either advance or potentially hinder your goals.
- Strategic integration: Developing concrete next steps to integrate different forms of capital into your investment and impact activities.
The program is structured to move from theory to practical application, culminating in the development of a personalized action plan. It emphasizes science-backed frameworks for understanding and deploying valuable capitals you may not even know you have, and techniques for strategically combining financial and non-financial capitals for exponentially greater impact.
